The adventure of the Trophée du Bicentenaire is mixed up with that of VaeVictis magazine. It was from issue #18 of the magazine that the Jours de Gloire series first saw daylight, with the support of Richard Berg, at the same time that the project of following step by step the 200th anniversary of the small and great battles of the Napoleonic epoch across a competition of historical games was conceived. On January 23rd and 24th 2016 this odd little idea finally reached its goal, with the pride of an oath accomplished during the 19th and last tournament around Waterloo.
The Trophée du Bicentenaire gathered in those nineteen tournaments, had gathered 218 gamers from seven countries (France, Belgium, Switzerland, Luxembourg, England, Canada, and Finland) who had disputed 2985 playings of 30 different battles of the Jours de Gloire series.
The convention was located in Château de Vincennes for the three first tournaments and in the salle Henri Darien (in Vanves, near Paris, France) for the following ones.
The tournament is now completed. The best Napoleonic game strategist is the one who have scored the greatest number of points during the 19 tournaments. The Trophée du Bicentenaire winner is Denis Sauvage (1st, 1302 points), with Philippe Berthet (2nd, 1096 points) and Sauveur d'Anna (3rd, 1091 points).
